IV Therapy in Broken Arrow: What's in Each Drip and What It's Actually For

By Rebekah Presley, FNP-C · Restorative Health and Wellness, Broken Arrow, OK

IV therapy gets marketed as a wellness trend. At Restorative Health and Wellness in Broken Arrow, it is a clinical tool — ordered by Rebekah Presley, FNP-C following a good-faith medical exam, and formulated based on what your body actually needs that day.

This is a plain-language breakdown of every formulation we offer: what is in it, what conditions it is used for, and the clinical rationale behind it.

Basic Hydration — $99

Ingredients: 0.9% normal saline (1 liter)

Used for: Dehydration, heat exhaustion, travel fatigue, post-illness fluid replacement, pre-procedure hydration

Normal saline replaces fluid volume faster and more completely than oral hydration — particularly when the gut is compromised by illness or when rapid repletion is needed. This is the foundation of IV therapy. When dehydration is the primary issue and nutrient repletion is secondary, this is the appropriate starting point.

Electrolyte Restoration — $129

Ingredients: Normal saline, magnesium, potassium, sodium bicarbonate

Used for: GI illness (vomiting, diarrhea), intense athletic activity, heat-related electrolyte loss, post-surgery recovery

Magnesium and potassium are the electrolytes most commonly depleted by GI illness and heavy sweating. Oral replacement is often inadequate when absorption is compromised — which is exactly when you need it most. IV delivery bypasses the gut entirely.

Hangover Support — $159

Ingredients: Normal saline, B-complex vitamins, anti-nausea medication (ondansetron or promethazine), magnesium

Used for: Alcohol-induced dehydration, hangover headache, nausea, body aches, fatigue after alcohol consumption

Alcohol depletes B vitamins and magnesium while causing significant dehydration. This formulation addresses all three simultaneously — rehydration, nutrient repletion, and nausea control. The anti-nausea component is what makes this meaningfully different from drinking water and taking ibuprofen.

Energy Booster — $175

Ingredients: Normal saline, B-complex (B1 thiamine, B2 riboflavin, B3 niacin, B5 pantothenic acid, B6 pyridoxine), B12 methylcobalamin, magnesium

Used for: Fatigue, brain fog, burnout, B-vitamin deficiency, low energy despite adequate sleep, post-viral fatigue

B vitamins are essential cofactors in cellular energy production — specifically in the Krebs cycle and ATP synthesis. Deficiencies are common in people under chronic stress, on certain medications (metformin depletes B12; oral contraceptives deplete B6 and folate), or with gut absorption issues. IV delivery achieves plasma concentrations that oral supplementation cannot match.

Migraine Support — $189

Ingredients: Normal saline, magnesium sulfate, B2 riboflavin, B6 pyridoxine, anti-nausea medication, ketorolac (when appropriate)

Used for: Acute migraine, tension headache, hormonal headache, menstrual migraine, headache with nausea not responding to oral medication

Magnesium deficiency is strongly associated with migraine frequency and severity. IV magnesium has evidence for acute migraine treatment and is used in emergency department settings. Riboflavin (B2) has evidence for migraine prevention at high doses. The anti-nausea component addresses the GI component that makes oral medication ineffective during an active migraine — you cannot absorb a pill you cannot keep down.

Immune Booster — $249

Ingredients: Normal saline, high-dose vitamin C (ascorbic acid 5–10g), zinc, B-complex vitamins

Used for: Post-viral recovery, active illness, allergy season immune support, pre-travel preparation, chronic immune dysregulation

High-dose IV vitamin C achieves plasma concentrations 30–70 times higher than oral supplementation — concentrations with documented anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating effects that are simply not achievable orally. Zinc supports T-cell function and antiviral activity. This is the formulation we reach for when patients are fighting something off or want to reduce susceptibility before high-exposure periods.

Mega Myers Cocktail — $249

Ingredients: Normal saline, B-complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6), B12 methylcobalamin, vitamin C, magnesium chloride, calcium gluconate

Used for: Chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, nutrient deficiency, stress recovery, depression, asthma, seasonal allergies, general wellness optimization

The Myers Cocktail was developed by Dr. John Myers in the 1970s and remains the most studied IV nutrient protocol. The combination of B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium, and calcium supports mitochondrial function, neurotransmitter synthesis, immune regulation, and smooth muscle relaxation. Our Mega Myers uses higher doses than the original formulation. It is the most versatile drip we offer and the one most patients start with.

Genetic Blueprint IV — from $299

Ingredients: Personalized — formulated from your nutrigenomic results. May include methylated B vitamins (methylfolate, methylcobalamin), riboflavin 5-phosphate, P5P (active B6), glutathione, vitamin D, magnesium glycinate, and others based on your specific variants.

Used for: MTHFR variants, COMT variants, VDR variants, methylation dysfunction, detoxification pathway support, personalized nutrient optimization

Genetic variants in MTHFR, COMT, VDR, and related genes affect how your body processes and utilizes specific nutrients. MTHFR variants, for example, impair the conversion of folic acid to the active methylfolate — meaning standard B-vitamin formulations may be poorly utilized. The Genetic Blueprint IV uses the active, methylated forms your specific genetics require, and omits nutrients your variants suggest you may not need. It is the only truly personalized IV drip we offer. It requires prior genetic testing through our genetics program.

How the Formulation Is Chosen

You book a visit — not a specific drip. Based on your good-faith medical exam, Rebekah selects the infusion that is medically appropriate for you that day. The ingredient lists above reflect what each formulation typically contains. She may adjust based on your exam findings, current medications, and clinical presentation.

This is what makes IV therapy at Restorative Health and Wellness different from a walk-in drip bar: every infusion is clinically ordered, individually assessed, and fully compliant with Oklahoma Board of Nursing Policy P-24.
